VogueThread is a multi-brand boutique that curates the best in independent luxury fashion. The website design needed to function like a digital magazine, where the shopping experience is secondary to the "discovery" of the designers' stories.
The previous Shopify site was generic and didn't feel "luxury". Navigation was difficult on mobile devices—where 80% of their traffic originated—and the checkout process had too many steps, leading to a cart abandonment rate of nearly 75%.
I designed a "Story-First" shopping experience.
Editorial Layouts: Product pages that include high-resolution "lookbook" imagery and long-form copy about the designer’s inspiration.
Mobile-First UX: A "Thumb-Zone" optimized interface where all critical buttons (Add to Bag, Size Select) are reachable with one hand.
Visual Minimalist: A monochromatic UI that uses bold typography to create a high-fashion aesthetic without distracting from the clothing.
One-Page Checkout: A condensed, frictionless checkout process that allows users to buy in under 30 seconds.
"Shop the Look" Integration: An interactive feature where users can click items in a lifestyle photo and add them directly to their cart.
Personalized Recommendation Engine: An algorithm that suggests products based on the user's previous browsing history and style preferences.
High-Res Zoom & Video: Smooth, high-frame-rate video clips for every product to show how the fabric moves in real life.
Within three months of launching the new site, VogueThread saw their mobile conversion rate jump by 40%. Cart abandonment dropped from 75% to 42%, and the "Shop the Look" feature alone became responsible for 25% of the store's total revenue.
